Refund policy
Delivery, returns and after-care
Every OFUTON KOBO shikibuton is made in Japan and sent directly from Japan by Japan Post EMS. Because this is a large personal bedding item crossing borders, we ask you to choose the model and size with care. If you are unsure, write to info@ofutonkobo.com before ordering; we would rather help you choose well than handle an avoidable return later.
If you wish to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best before dispatch. Once a parcel has entered international delivery, it cannot normally be cancelled in transit.
If local law gives you a cooling-off or withdrawal right, we honour it. Please contact info@ofutonkobo.com within the applicable period and wait for return instructions before sending anything back. Unless the item is faulty, incorrect or not as described, the direct cost of returning this large parcel to Japan is borne by the customer.
Please take good care of the item while deciding. If a returned item has been used, washed, soiled, damaged, kept in a damp condition, carries odour, or has been handled beyond what is necessary to check its nature, characteristics and size, we may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value where permitted by law.
If your item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect or materially different from its description, contact info@ofutonkobo.com promptly with your order number and clear photographs. Verified issues are made right with the remedy required by applicable law, and return costs are covered by us where a fault is confirmed.
Import duties, VAT/GST, customs-clearance fees and other destination charges are collected by local authorities or carriers, not by OFUTON KOBO. If a return is approved, these charges are not refundable by us; in some countries you may be able to ask the local authority about a duty or tax refund.
We do not operate a sleep-trial programme. A shikibuton is personal bedding, and a careful choice before ordering protects both the customer and the product. Our size guide, product comparison and support email are available before you place the order.
Air the shikibuton regularly, keep it dry, and rotate or turn it from time to time so that wear remains even. After payment, we will email practical guidance on use and care.
