Shipping policy

Available destinations, carriers, charges, estimated delivery windows, taxes, duties, and the final total are shown for the selected market during checkout. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed dates.

For all active international markets, products ship from Japan by Japan Post EMS or another carrier shown for the selected market. The carrier and tracking information supplied for the order are controlling.

Product prices include standard international shipping where stated. Import duties, taxes, customs brokerage, and local clearance charges, if any, are the buyer's responsibility unless checkout expressly states that they are included.

Check the delivery address, telephone number, product size, and customs information before payment. The customer is responsible for accurate delivery and customs details.

Customs processing, weather, peak periods, and carrier operations can cause delays. If tracking shows an exception or the parcel arrives damaged, contact info@ofutonkobo.com promptly with the order number.

Proof of Japanese origin and import tax support

Your futon is made in Japan and shipped directly from Japan. If customs asks for proof of origin, email info@ofutonkobo.com. We can provide documentation of its Japanese origin and, where the relevant requirements are met, the origin statement or certificate needed to claim preferential customs duty.

Where the product and shipment meet the requirements of the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), you may qualify for reduced or zero customs duty, subject to acceptance by the customs authorities. Import VAT, GST or other local taxes, and customs clearance fees, may still be payable.

OUR CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS IMPORT TAXES

Up to US$20 (approximately €18) per order

If you pay import duties or taxes, we will reimburse the amount actually paid, up to this limit, as a partial refund to your original payment method.

To claim, email your order number and proof of payment of the customs or carrier tax invoice to info@ofutonkobo.com within 60 days of receiving your order. The euro amount is indicative. Any remaining duties or taxes and customs clearance fees are payable by you.
